Quality Engineer

Position Summary: The Quality Engineer is an integral, collaborative role responsible for ensuring the highest quality of our products and customer service. This position drives product and process excellence by developing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality assurance and control systems for both internal operations and our supply chain. All team members are expected to uphold the highest standards of safety and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Leadership: Serve as the primary Quality liaison for new and existing products.

  • System Design: Design, develop, and implement robust quality assurance and control systems.

  • Process Improvement: Drive the prevention and resolution of product and manufacturing process non-conformance.

  • NPI Support: Lead cross-functional Quality tasks and coordinate meetings for New Product Introduction (NPI) and project management.

  • Supplier Management: Manage and improve supplier quality performance in collaboration with Supply Chain, Product Development, and Operations.

  • Compliance: Implement and maintain control plans, procedures, and support ISO/IATF 16949 certification and customer quality requirements.

  • Problem Solving: Lead root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventative actions for quality concerns, and analyze customer complaints.

  • Inspection & Testing: Develop and implement standards for inspection, testing, and evaluation, including defining inspection processes using GD&T.

  • PPAP: Prepare and review Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation for both customers and suppliers.

  • Calibration: Coordinate internal and outsourced calibration activities.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree OR an equivalent two-year technical degree with 3+ years in a Quality Engineering role.

  2. Alternatively, 3-5 years of hands-on experience in quality engineering or quality management systems without a formal degree.

  3. Strong proficiency in AIAG Advanced Quality Planning standards: Control Plan, FMEAs, PPAPs, MSAs, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).

  4. Demonstrated knowledge of quality statistical concepts and robust problem-solving methodology (e.g., Six Sigma experience).

Highly Desirable:

  • Automotive Industry experience.

  • Relevant Quality Certifications (e.g., ASQ CQE, Certified Internal/Lead Auditor).

  • Experience in Program and Project Management (e.g., using Microsoft Project or similar software).
