POSITION SUMMARY – IT Technician
Provide technical assistance with hardware, software, network infrastructure and other related business technology issues.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Address user tickets regarding hardware, software and networking
- Walk users through installing applications and computer peripherals
- Ask targeted questions to diagnose problems
- Guide users with simple, step-by-step instructions
- Conduct remote troubleshooting
- Test alternative pathways until issue is resolved
- Customize desktop applications to meet user needs
- Record technical issues and solutions in tickets
- Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
- Report customer feedback and potential product requests
- Help create technical documentation and manuals
- Any other responsibility as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel to each of our buildings to troubleshoot issues
- A reliable vehicle and current driver's license are required
- Ability to work late or come in earlier dependent on current issues
- Be on call after hours sometimes when needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of Windows 7/10 Operating Systems
- Knowledge of Active Directory
- Familiar with remote troubleshooting techniques.
- Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners
- Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs
- Knowledge of running and terminating data cabling
- SQL Database knowledge would be a huge plus
- Knowledge of wireless technologies
- Knowledge of VPN technology
- Knowledge of PoE and IP Phones
Minimum Experience required
- IT Support: 1 year (Preferred)
