POSITION SUMMARY – IT Technician

Provide technical assistance with hardware, software, network infrastructure and other related business technology issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Address user tickets regarding hardware, software and networking
  • Walk users through installing applications and computer peripherals
  • Ask targeted questions to diagnose problems
  • Guide users with simple, step-by-step instructions
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting
  • Test alternative pathways until issue is resolved
  • Customize desktop applications to meet user needs
  • Record technical issues and solutions in tickets
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
  • Report customer feedback and potential product requests
  • Help create technical documentation and manuals
  • Any other responsibility as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel to each of our buildings to troubleshoot issues
  • A reliable vehicle and current driver's license are required
  • Ability to work late or come in earlier dependent on current issues
  • Be on call after hours sometimes when needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of Windows 7/10 Operating Systems
  • Knowledge of Active Directory
  • Familiar with remote troubleshooting techniques.
  • Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners
  • Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs
  • Knowledge of running and terminating data cabling
  • SQL Database knowledge would be a huge plus
  • Knowledge of wireless technologies
  • Knowledge of VPN technology
  • Knowledge of PoE and IP Phones

Minimum Experience required

  • IT Support: 1 year (Preferred)
