MATERIAL HANDLER I
Location: Woodland, WA
Shift: DAY SHIFT - Monday–Thursday | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (10-hour shifts)
Compensation: $20 – 25 per hour
JOB SUMMARY
The Material Handler I position is responsible for operating a forklift to provide material as needed to our production floor. This position also assists in moving, locating, relocating, shipping products, and unloading material deliveries. This position must be able to anticipate the needs for day-to-day activities in production and shipping.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide the production line with the appropriate material needed for the job. You will need to have the ability to anticipate the needs of a production line
- Use appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jack and forklift to move material on the shop floor and throughout the warehouse
- Use mobile handheld devices to scan, track material, and do daily cycle counting
- Daily trips with the company truck to the off-site annex to pick up material
- Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies
- Work in a safe, efficient manner, adhering to company safety policies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area in accordance with 6S standards
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
- Communicate questions or concerns to supervisors to ensure tasks are understood and completed correctly
- Professionally perform all duties, working effectively with others and treating all team members with respect
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 1-3 years of Logistics experience, warehouse operations, and forklift driving
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed instructions
- Strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable and consistent attendance, including punctuality
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to move frequently throughout the work cell and shop floor
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, and work up to 12-hour shifts, with occasional overtime as required
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, heat, and standard industrial conditions
- Work on a dock that is not climate-controlled for extended periods
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
